My memories of Uncle John are many, from teaching me to swim admittedly by throwing me in the pool and watching if I sunk or swam, thank god for me I swam. His sense of fun and the laughs that we all got to have with him is a memory that I will always carry with me. Rest in Peace love always Anna

I have such fond memories of my Great Uncle John from my childhood visits to my Great Grandmother Winifred and my Grandmother Isabel. He was a man full of warmth and good humour, with a cheeky spirit that made every visit special. Uncle John always had a treat to share and a laugh to give, and he showed such kindness and generosity to everyone around him. He will always hold a special place in both myself and my mum Therese's heart, and I will forever be grateful for the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.

To me, he wasn't just an uncle—he was a great uncle in every way. When we had nowhere to go, he took us in. He was always there for my mum, his sister,Isabel, and that showed the kind of man he was. Uncle John taught me so much in simple ways. He taught me how to swim, and he turned even the hardest times into adventures. I'll never forget a camping trip that was wet and miserable by most standards—but Uncle John made it fun, something I still laugh about today. And that laugh—what a laugh,. A big, deep belly laugh that could fill a room and make everyone smile. That's what I'll always remember most. Later in life, Uncle John met Josephine, and together they shared a love that brought him real happiness. He also spent countless hours in the garden, doing what he loved—planting, tending, and caring, just as he cared for the people in his life. Even though he and Mum lived in different states, they never let distance stop them from staying close. That bond between them was something truly special. Uncle John was a great man with a big heart. He gave us love, laughter, and memories we'll carry forever. We say goodbye with sadness, but also with deep gratitude for the time we had with him. Rest peacefully, Uncle John. You will be dearly missed.
