Obituary For Laurence Charles Ritter
It is with genuine sadness that we announce the passing of Laurence Charles Ritter, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 8, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on February 21, 1955, in Brisbane, Queensland, Laurence was a cherished member of his family and community.
Laurence was the son of Charles and Muriel Ritter, who instilled in him the values of kindness, humor, and resilience. He grew up in a loving home that taught him the importance of family and connection. Those values remained with him throughout his life, shaping him into the kind man that many came to know and love.
On September 24, 1983, Laurence married the love of his life, Jennifer Holt, in a beautiful ceremony in Brisbane. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Laurence took immense pride in being a devoted husband and father, always supporting and encouraging his daughters, Melissa and Lauren, in all their endeavors. His love for them knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with his family.
Laurence was known in his community as the kind-hearted man who enjoyed a beer or three at the Fitzroy Hotel in Nanango, more affectionately known to Laurence as “ the office". It was here that he created lasting friendships and shared countless stories, all while embodying a spirit of camaraderie and warmth. His laughter and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Residing in Nanango, Queensland, Laurence found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and the company of friends and family. His hobbies and interests encompassed the essence of a life well-lived, though he often found the most fulfillment in the time spent with loved ones and sharing a warm smile or a good story.
As we remember Laurence Charles Ritter, we celebrate a life rich with love, kindness, and community spirit. He leaves behind a legacy through his wife, Jennifer, and daughters, Melissa and Lauren, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter will echo in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Laurence's life will be held and all are welcome to join in honouring his memory.
Rest in peace, Laurence. You will be missed more than words can express.
