What should I do first if someone dies in Nanango?
- If the death was expected and happened at home, you don't have to call anyone straight away. Within 48 hours, let their doctor or palliative care team know so a cause of death certificate can be arranged. (qld.gov.au)

How does a burial at Nanango Cemetery work?
Council's rules are clear and simple:
- A Burial Application must be approved by Council before any burial takes place.
- Burials must be carried out by a licensed funeral director. (Ashes can be placed by a private citizen.)
- Council fees must be paid in full before approval is given. Council doesn't offer payment plans, and fees are reviewed each year.
- If you hold a grave reservation, the reservation doesn't include the interment fee.
- Graves are generally prepared for two burials, and Council places a temporary marker after the burial.
(South Burnett Regional Council)
We look after the application, the council booking and the payment of cemetery fees on your behalf, and we pass those fees on at cost as a disbursement on your quote. Council's cemetery team can be reached on (07) 4189 9100 if you'd like to check a family grave or reservation. You can also read more on Council's cemeteries page.
Where can we hold a funeral service in Nanango?
